The Italian Association for Public Participation is a non-profit social association, established in 2011.
The aim of the association is to promote and improve the practice of public participation by individual, collective and institutional actors in relation to issues of public interest at different levels of government (local, regional, national). In particular, the association aims to create a community of practice among all those - professionals, academics, administrators, civil servants, citizens - who practice participation and believe that citizen involvement is an essential requirement for the revitalisation of representative democracy.
The association has published the book « Coltivare Partecipazione », ed. La Meridiana 2020 with the members of the association.
The book is of stories of the surprises and difficulties of managing this type of process. It has a general premiss for each section and then stories of different processes. The sections are commons, local development, environmental conflict and the School (considered our supreme commons).
