Abstract:
The French magazine “Transrural Initiatives” published this dossier “Searching for peasant knowledge / A la recherche des savoirs paysans” in February 2021.
” What roles have agronomic research and the industrialisation of agriculture played in the massive loss of peasant knowledge that is still taking place? Who are the peasants and groups engaged in a process of reclaiming this knowledge and what is the impact on the development of their autonomy? How can these new practices be transmitted and disseminated? This dossier, based on the work of researchers and the reflections of the members of the “Initiatives pour une agriculture citoyenne et territoriale (InPACT)” platform, offers a better understanding of the phenomena of destruction and reclaiming of peasant knowledge.“
